A story of how SVPSA’s Catchafire program made a difference
In the heart of San Antonio, Magik Theatre stands as a beacon of creativity and imagination, captivating audiences of all ages with its spellbinding productions. But behind the scenes, Director of Development, Heather, had a vision to enhance the theater’s operations and ensure its continued success. Enter our hero, Jack, a volunteer extraordinaire armed with a passion for problem-solving and a knack for data analysis. They connected through a tool provided by local funders, called Catchafire.
Heather knew that to sustain Magik Theatre’s mission of providing accessible and enriching theater experiences, they needed to elevate their approach to tracking key performance indicators. With over half of the theater’s revenue sourced from grants, optimizing their grant revenue projections was paramount. Jack stepped in to save the day, offering his expertise to develop an accessible template that would revolutionize Magik Theatre’s data analysis efforts.
Through collaborative efforts and Jack’s analytical prowess, Magik Theatre’s spreadsheet underwent a magical transformation. With enhanced capabilities for projecting grant revenue and identifying trends, the theater was empowered to make data-driven decisions that would shape its future. The result? A projected savings of $4,828, paving the way for discounted student matinee tickets and ensuring that even more young minds could experience the wonder of live theater.
