San Antonio Nonprofits Gather for Sold-Out IMPACT SummitInaugural IMPACT Summit

More than 120 nonprofit leaders and staff enjoyed a full day of learning and networking at the inaugural IMPACT Summit of Texas, held on May 3 at Hallmark University’s west side campus in San Antonio. The event sold out two weeks in advance, with a long waitlist, fueling enthusiasm to host it again in 2025.

The event originated from SVPSA Board Members Nisi Bennett and Leslie Palmer, who, inspired by a conference they attended in Austin, envisioned a similar gathering for San Antonio nonprofit staff.

“While we often heard nonprofits request more professional development, we underestimated the demand. Now, we hear you loud and clear that networking and learning are needed in San Antonio for nonprofit staff and leaders,” said Becky Dinnin, Executive Director. “This idea wouldn’t have been possible without a dedicated army of volunteers and speakers willing to give their time to do it well,” Dinnin added.

The feedback was overwhelmingly positive.

The effort was a major collaboration, involving multiple organizations. Alongside SVPSA, the planning team included the San Antonio Area Foundation, Hallmark University, Nisi Bennet (AJB Consulting), and the Leslie Palmer Consulting Group. These organizations collectively invested hundreds of hours to bring the event to life.

Who Attended:

  • 110 attendees from 71 nonprofits
  • 21 speakers

Attendees were based in San Antonio and surrounding cities, as well as Austin, Fort Worth, and Houston.

With each program, SVP San Antonio surveys participants to measure the impact. Over 20% reported that they never or rarely have access to professional development or networking programs. Additionally, 95% indicated they would recommend the conference to colleagues and friends.

SVPSA and its collaborators are working to finalize dates for the 2025 conference, which will accommodate more attendees. SVPSA will announce the event online soon.
