Loves to mentor extraordinary young professionals. Still learning, making mistakes, and growing every day. Change is good, growth is better. After decades of for-profit and nonprofit experience, Leslie has decided to strike out on her own, intending to share her expertise with the community, partner with other strong practitioners and help grow the capacity and success of the nonprofit community near and far. Previously, Leslie served as the Executive Director of the World Affairs Council of San Antonio, Vice President and Executive Director for City Year San Antonio, and Assistant Vice President of Development for the American National Red Cross to name a few.
Professionally, Leslie has had significant experiences in Board Development, Capacity Building, Change Management, Communications, Community Collaboration, Fundraising, Marketing & Public Relations and Mentoring & Coaching. Currently she is serving as Chair for the City of San Antonio – Commission of Family Well-Being, a member of the Business Influencers Group of The Nonprofit Council, Chair-elect for the Summer of Service – San Antonio Board of Directors, and a Partner with Social Venture Partners – San Antonio.
Previous service has included the Boys and Girls Clubs of San Antonio, Newcomers of San Antonio, San Antonio Mexico Friendship Council, and the San Antonio Symphony.
Originally from Newport, RI, Leslie is a graduate of Villanova University. She has 3 terrific adult children, a marvelous daughter-in-law, and two delightful grandsons! She is also the human to two rescued dogs, Guinness and Sox.
Fun Fact: Leslie was the first professional female firefighter in the county and city of Newport, RI.
Another Fun Fact: Leslie has been to 47 of the 50 United States. She is working on visiting Montana, North Dakota, and Oregon.
